The burner is compatible with oils and wax melts but it is very important that you consider the size and depth of the dish in relation to the size/number of wax melts you add at once to ensure it will not overrun the edges when melted.
When lit, it creates a warm glow through the cut out windows. When not in use it is a lovely decorative ornament.
